Land Preparation

  • 2–3 deep ploughings, fine tilth & Apply 10–15 tons FYM/acre
  • Make raised beds for good drainage

Sowing Time & Method

  • Kharif: June–July , Rabi: Sept–Oct & Summer: Jan–Feb
  • Seed rate: 7000–8000 Seeds /acre
  • Transplant 25–30 days old seedlings

Spacing & Nutrient Management

  • Spacing: 1.5 × 1.5 ft
  • Fertilizer: NPK 40:20:20 kg/acre & Nitrogen in 2 split doses (after transplant & bud stage)
  • Apply Secondary Nutrients – Ca , Mg , S & Apply nitrogen in split doses

Irrigation

  • Light irrigation after transplanting & Then every 6–8 days
  • Avoid water stagnation

Pest & Disease Management

  • Aphids, thrips → Neem oil / Imidacloprid
  • Leaf spot, damping off → Mancozeb / Carbendazim / Thiophanate Methyl 70 %

Harvesting

  • First picking in 45–50 days, then every 4–5 days
  • Yield: Depend On Nutrients Management & Climatic Conditions
