Land Preparation

  • 2–3 deep ploughings, fine tilth & Apply 10–15 tons FYM/acre

Sowing Time & Method

  • Kharif: June–July , Rabi: Oct–Nov & Summer: Jan–Feb
  • Seed rate: 60–80 g/acre (nursery) & Transplant 25–30 days old seedlings

Spacing & Nutrient Management

  • Spacing: 2 × 2 ft (hybrid) & Fertilizer: NPK 50:25:25 kg/acre
  • Apply Secondary Nutrients – Ca , Mg ,S & Apply nitrogen in split doses
  • Nitrogen in split doses

Irrigation

  • Immediately after transplanting & Then every 6–8 days
  • Avoid waterlogging

Pest & Disease Management

  • Pests: Shoot & fruit borer, aphids → Pheromone trap / Emamectin
  • Diseases: Wilt, leaf spot → Carbendazim / Mancozeb

Harvesting

  • Harvest: 55–65 days after transplanting
  • Yield: Depend On Nutrients Management & Climatic Condtions
